Beau Soleil Student Wins Global Campus Writing Competition
At Beau Soleil, and as part of Nord Anglia Education, our students have access to incredible global opportunities through the Global Campus platform.
Global Campus is an online learning community available to all Nord Anglia students worldwide, offering a wide range of competitions, activities, and collaborative projects - from creative arts and writing to STEM partnerships with organisations such as MIT. Students are encouraged to explore their interests, challenge themselves creatively, and connect with peers across the globe.
Today, we are delighted to celebrate one of our own students who has achieved outstanding success through this platform.
Lolowa recently took part in the Global Campus Writing Competition, and we are thrilled to announce that her story, Rook Lantern and the Whispering Root, was selected as the overall winner in the 14+ category across all Nord Anglia schools worldwide.
This year’s competition received an incredible 4,282 entries from 119 schools, making this an exceptional achievement. Entries were initially judged by Nord Anglia volunteer teachers, before the final winners were selected by acclaimed external judge and author Sam Sedgman.
The judges were full of praise for Lolowa’s writing, describing it as:
“A vivid world brought brilliantly to life through the eyes of a remarkable character. I loved the descriptions of nature, especially the damp and breathing walls of the Underpath, and the contrast between Rook and the Engineers. Some great moments of action and many spectacular images created with a wonderful use of language.”
As part of her award, Lolowa will receive a Global Campus certificate and Creative pin badge. Even more excitingly, her winning story will be professionally illustrated, transformed into an e-book, and recorded as an audiobook narrated by Sam Sedgman himself. The published stories will be released on Global Campus on 27 May 2026.
We are incredibly proud of Lolowa’s creativity, imagination, and dedication, and we look forward to seeing her story shared with the wider Nord Anglia community.
Congratulations, Lolowa, on this remarkable achievement!
