A Warm Welcome Our New Students at Beau Soleil
There is always something special about the beginning of a new school year at Beau Soleil. This September, we were delighted to welcome our new students and their families to Villars, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their Beau Soleil journey.
With beautiful sunshine and the mountains providing the perfect backdrop, our two days of arrivals were all about helping new students and their families feel at home, meet the people who will become part of their everyday lives and begin building connections within the Beau Soleil community.
Celebrations began the evening before Arrivals Day with our New Parents’ Cocktail at the Villars Palace. It was a relaxed opportunity for parents to meet boarding house teams, connect with other new families and enjoy the spectacular views across the surrounding mountains.
To make introductions a little easier, parents were given colourful Hawaiian necklaces corresponding to their child's boarding house, a fun way of quickly finding the other families and staff they would be getting to know over the year ahead.
Meanwhile, the students were beginning to make connections of their own. Away from their parents, they met their boarding teams and fellow new students for the first time, with games and team-building activities helping to break the ice and settle those inevitable first-day nerves.
The following morning, it was officially time to become a Beau Soleil student.
New families arrived on campus to check in, move into boarding houses and, perhaps most importantly, meet roommates for the first time. Throughout the day, students and parents had the opportunity to explore the school, visit different faculties and hear from members of our community about the academic, boarding and co-curricular experiences that lie ahead.
Starting at a new school, particularly a boarding school in a new country, is a significant moment for any young person. Arrivals Day is therefore about much more than completing check-in. It is about helping every student begin to understand the community they are joining and ensuring they feel supported from the very beginning.
Eventually, of course, came the moment to say goodbye. As parents departed Villars, students returned to their boarding houses for dinner together and their first evening as members of the Beau Soleil community.
The following day, our returning students arrived back on campus, bringing with them the familiar energy of a new school year at Beau Soleil.
A weekend programme of activities gave new and returning students plenty of opportunities to spend time together, reconnect with old friends and make new ones. For our newest students, it was another chance to build relationships and begin finding their place within their house, year group and the wider school community.
Within just a few days, unfamiliar faces had started becoming friends, boarding houses were filling with life again and our new students were beginning to make Beau Soleil their home away from home.

Beau Soleil student Lolowa has been named the overall winner in the 14+ category of the Nord Anglia Global Campus Writing Competition. Chosen from over 4,282 entries across 89 schools worldwide, her story Rook Lantern and the Whispering Root impressed judges with its vivid imagination and exceptional use of language.
Beau Soleil Robotics Team celebrate success at the Swiss 2026 Alpine Robo Games
Building on last year’s success, Beau Soleil doubled its representation at the national finals, taking four teams to compete against around 30 of the strongest robotics teams from across Switzerland. The competition is a major event in the national STEM calendar, with the winning team going on to represent Switzerland at the VEX World Finals.

IB Success for Class of 2026
The Class of 2026 at Beau Soleil International School has once again demonstrated exceptional achievement in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With an average score of 35 points and a highest score of 45/45, our graduates continue to perform well above the global average. Their success reflects not only academic excellence, but also perseverance, ambition, and a truly global outlook. Graduates have received offers from leading universities including New York University, Vanderbilt University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, UCLA, USC, and many more around the world.
