From mind full to mindful

What if obstacles were actually needed for our personal growth?

At Beau Soleil, we find ourselves nearly half way through the Autumn term… Is anything still standing in your way? For our students as for us all, some obstacles might appear manageable, others insurmountable.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

- Michael Jordan

It is important that we take the time to reflect and assess what obstacles our students might be facing and today, World Mental Health Day is an ideal opportunity for us to focus on this subject with our younger students. We call this reflective journey “From mind full to mindful”. Students have been asked to think about the difficulties they have encountered over the past few days, weeks and months, from temporary travel issues to embedded habits or mindsets. We celebrate the skills, experiences, pathways they have used to get to where they are now; then, we encourage them to look forward with positivity.

Coincidentally, today’s second whole school challenge is the aptly named Obstacle Course. Our whole school community will face a variety of obstacles over the 5km course through the forest behind the campus.
