Quarantine at Beau Soleil, a safe and welcoming environment for our students

We are ready to welcome all our students back for a safe and exciting new academic year on the Beau Soleil campus! With students returning to Villars from around the world, we are making sure that all our community can safely begin their Beau Soleil experience, with a number of students already on site for quarantining.

Safety measures in Switzerland

Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our full school community and for students from a number of regions this means a compulsory period of quarantine. The Swiss Authorities introduced this measure for travellers from regions considered to have a higher risk of infection, offering an additional level of security. Here at Beau Soleil, measures like these are helping us to move forward confidently to the start of the school year and of course protecting both our students and staff and the local Villars community.

A campus of quarantine zones, security measures, a dedicated team and 5 bubbles of supportive students

On 24th August we welcomed the first of our students back to school and to the campus where they will remain for 10 days. Once they were tested and confirmed negative for Covid-19, they joined a small group of students with whom they will pass their time in quarantine.  There are 5 groups or ‘bubbles’, which have been created to facilitate any tracking or tracing processes.

Each bubble has a dedicated team of staff who are on hand to ensure students are happy, keeping healthy and busy and following the guidelines for social distancing and wearing masks.  A precisely planned rotation and activity programme is allowing each group of students to make the most of the campus facilities whilst ensuring they remain in their separate identifiable group.  Table-tennis, music, let’s dance competitions, karaoke, board games, play station and art have thus far kept our students entertained and specially created inter-bubble tournament will be a weekend highlight!

Happy Students

We are thrilled to see our students so happy to be back on campus and re-connecting with their friends, of course in a socially-distanced manner.  We are proud of the way that our students are dealing with this period and helping to ensure that they and the other members of their bubble adhere to the quarantine regulations and basic hygiene rules of wearing their masks, practicing social distancing and regularly washing or disinfecting their hands.

It's great to see all the students joining in activities and the atmosphere on campus is really good.

Ongoing Health Checks

Staff are of course keeping a close eye on the health of their groups, watching closely for any sign of ill-health.  Should the need arise, our health team are on call and a dedicated isolation facility has been set up near to the school.

We look forward to having all our students back on campus for the start on the school year ready to start classes on 7th September!
