FAQs

Where are campers accommodated?

Girls and boys are housed in separate accommodation with the majority of our campers sharing twin rooms. Each camper has access to a cupboard space and a small safe for valuables.

Which airport should my child fly to?

Beau Soleil organises transfers from Geneva airport on arrival and departure days and these transfers are included in the camp fees.

My child is flying with an unaccompanied minor service

Please inform our team if your child is flying as a UM and we will confirm the name of the person assisting 1 week before flights.  Please note that this service incurs an additional charge from both the airline and Beau Soleil.

Does my child need a visa?

Campers from certain countries will require a visa to enter Switzerland, which may take up to two weeks to process.  Please check with the Swiss embassy in your country.

Who will I share my room with?

Should you wish to share your room with a friend, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to meet your request! If no special request is provided, we aim to ensure that each room is occupied by students of differing nationalities in order to encourage the sharing of cultures.

What sort of food is served at camp?

Meals are prepared by our own chefs who pay meticulous attention to quality, presentation and flavour to produce healthy, balanced menus. Vegetarian menus are also offered. Any meals on the menu containing pork will carry an indication. We often organize BBQs and themed food evenings.

Attendance at all meals is compulsory. Children and staff share mealtimes. If your child has a food allergy, it should be mentioned in the medical form upon enrolment.

How much pocket money should my child have?

Pocket money is paid in advance for each camper. Campers will be able to withdraw small sums of pocket money, each day (Monday to Friday) with the remaining balance returned to the camper upon departure.  We recommend 150 Chf per week. If you wish to leave extra pocket money with the Direction, please note that only cash in Swiss Francs can be received.  We would discourage campers from having large sums of money.

What happens if my child gets sick?

The school has two nursing staff who are available daily on campus for minor ailments and to ensure children take their medication. Any prescribed medication is kept and administered by the nurse; self-medication is not allowed.  This rule also applies to homeopathic medication which should be discussed with nursing staff upon arrival.  Nursing staff work in close collaboration with the local doctors and hospital for any more serious issues.

Should my child bring a mobile phone?

In order for our campers to best enjoy their time at camp, we limit the use of mobile phones to specific times each day.

If have any more questions please feel free to ask.
