After graduating from Liverpool University, I started my career in the UK, with a focus on Physical Education and English. I then went on to specialise in supporting children with learning challenges. Adding expertise in English as an Additional Language (EAL) and counselling skills to my repertoire, I have been influential in developing learning, in both UK and European Schools in The Netherlands and Italy, as a Middle School Principal and interim High School Principal.
I believe in an holistic approach to education.
I have a natural enthusiasm for encouraging students to challenge themselves, and believe in an holistic approach to education which balances academics with preparation for the many challenges that life presents. As the mother of two now grown up children, I understand and relate to the challenges faced by both students and parents as children move through adolescence, and so I am always ready to lend a listening ear.
I love to cook and I am passionate about animals as well as children. Currently, I have three cats who have travelled throughout Europe with me and my family, and I now also have two dogs who have been rescued from Swiss animal refuges – I am currently working on training my rescue Husky to pull a sledge in snow and a dog scooter in the summer!
